EARL's 78s FOR SALE

Hi!

For those of you who haven't received this list from me before, this is a list of mainly operatic 78rpm records of which I have more than one copy, generally, because I've foolishly bought a second copy, not realizing I already had it. This generally happens before I get the result from one auction and have bid for the same record on another.

Anyhow, I'm a collector, not a dealer, so, while I've got a rough idea of what any record is worth, I'd rather you begin by telling me what it might be worth to you and then we can see if we can come to an agreement. Any fair offer will be fine.

Because I'm not a dealer, I can only accept cash or a cheque that I can bank in the UK.

However, I'm happy to accept Pounds sterling, US Dollars or Euros.

Naturally, though, you would need to add the cost of postage, if you cannot get to London, and/or I will not be passing by your neck of the woods.

My description of condition is basic. I use a 1-10 system.

10 would be an unopened mint copy and 1 would be so bad that it would only be for putting on the wall to look at. Most records are in the 6-9 region. I also use NW. Some records are really just dirty rather than scratched and NEED WASHING with washing up liquid in the usual way. Hence NW.

I shall also insert the date of recording when I know it.

OH YES! AS I SAY, I'M NOT A DEALER AND I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO A LOT OF PACKING BOXES. I REALLY WANT TO CLEAR SPACE HERE, SO PLEASE TAKE AT LEAST 5 OR 6 RECORDS WHEN YOU BID FOR THESE. I'M NOT EXPERT IN PACKING ANYHOW, AND AM SCARED TO POST JUST ONE OR TWO RECORDS LEST THEY BREAK EN ROUTE.

With that, here goes...

You can contact me on

spats@spats.demon.co.uk

I hope that you can find something. Feel free to ask me about the quality of singing or whatever on any of the records. I promise to be honest in my opinion.

All the best...

EARL OKIN.

Sibiriakov was probably the leading Russian bass of his time‚ (except, of-course, for Chaliapin!) These recordings were made in St. Petersburg‚ 1/2/09.
